Linux Essentials
Course Information
This course will help you understand basic Linux/Unix principles, and give you a practical knowledge of the tools available to you.
Pre-Requisites
This course is intended for people who, apart from a lack of Linux skills, are qualified to be computer system administrators.
If you have always wanted to get to grips with Linux, this is the course for you.
(Almost) anyone can attend ...
- You should be able to type accurately and reasonably quickly.
- You should be computer literate (meaning you can find your own way around a computer). As an example, you should also know the difference between a file, a directory and a program, and between memory and hard disk.
- You do not need to be familiar with Linux/UNIX operating systems, and the underlying principles.
- You should have at least one year of work experience with a computer system, preferably as the system administrator. (This is not an absolute requirement, as many other backgrounds will suffice.)
