Course Information & Aims
Linux and other operating systems face a number of threats in a networked environment. It is possible to secure Linux
against these threats. The Leading Edge Linux Security course provides an understanding of the security threats as
well as the techniques to counter these threats effectively while retaining the functionality required from your linux
system.
Intoweb is ISETT SETA accredited.
The techniques covered include a strong password policy, correctly configuring access to system services, configuring services
for maximum security, using encryption and network-level filtering.

Audience
We assume familiarity with Linux tools and TCP/IP networking. The ability to write working
shell scripts and to configure Linux servers is a requirement.
